After completing an amazing 1250 rides of 100 kilometers in length without missing a single day for three-and-a-half years, Anil Kadsur passed away on Friday 2 February from a massive heart attack in Bangalore, India.
The 45 year-old cyclist and a fitness trainer was well known throughout India for pedaling 100 kilometres every morning on a fixed gear bike, earning him multiple nicknames – Century Cyclist, Cycle Yogi and Cycle Guru.
It all started on 2 August 2020, when Kadsur set a personal goal, like many cyclists, to ride 100 kilometers for ten straight days during the pandemic, which then turned into a never ending challenge, routine and mission that started at 03:00 every morning and ended at 07:00.
Not one to continually boast of his streak of back-to-back rides, he only mention his amazing achievement once, on 31 January 2024 via Strava, just two days before his death.
