On Saturday 6 January Australia held its national amateur road cycling championships, including a National Gran Fondo Championship race on the famous 11.5km Mt. Buninyong circuit in Ballarat. The challenging 58 kilometer route included five ascents of Mt Buninyong, with gradients up to 10 percent.
