With only 4000 starting bibs available the lottery has opened up for the 43rd Ötztaler Cycling Marathon in Austria – probably the toughest and most challenging annual fondo event in the Alps.
To participate though, you will need a little luck and 5.90 Euros to enter the lottery and possibly score one of the 4000 starting bibs, but keep in mind over 20,000 other cyclists hope to get lucky too.
Lottery registration is available now through 31 January online, with the final drawing of bibs taking place in mid-February.
On 1 September the 2024 Ötztaler will start from Sölden on a bucket-list worthy 227 kilometer clockwise route on the Austria-Italy border. With over 5500 meters vertical ascent it includes climbing up through the Kühtai, Brenner, Jaufen and Timmelsjoch passes before finishing back in Sölden.
Good luck!
