The tenth edition of GFNY Cozumel brought together 3000+ cyclists from 55 countries to compete on a 160km double circuit around Isla Cozumel in Mexico on Sunday, with racing dominated by three former GFNY champions.
After winning GFNY Mexico City in 2017 and GFNY Mazatlan in 2021, it was Flavio Alejandro de Luna Dávila who added another victory to his palmarès. With a powerful finishing sprint he dispatched former GFNY Cozumel champions Christopher Hans Torres (2022) and Luis Enrique Lemus Dávila (2015), who finished second and third respectively. 59 year-old former Tour de France star Raul Alcala showed he still has what it takes to compete with riders half his age, finishing 10th.
Ana María Hernández Delgado won the women’s race, while second place went to Jacqueline Jimena Tamez Escamilla and third place to Anet Barrera Esparza.
