In his first ever gravel race 20 year-old Joe Blackmore (Team Inspire) defeated WorldTour pro road racer Connor Swift (Ineos Grenadiers) to win the King’s Cup British Gravel National Championship on Saturday. The U23 British road champion broke away with Swift on the final lap and outsprinted his breakaway companion to claim victory in 2:05:16. Sam Culverwell (Dolan Elesse RT) crossed under the finish banner in third place two minute later.

In a thrilling sprint photo-finish, 22 year-old Xan Crees (Spectra-Cannondale) threw her bike forward at the last second to defeated Danni Shrosbree (Amius) by just millimeters. Jane Barr (Velocity44 RT) finished third.
