UPDATE 13 OCTOBER 2024: A judge has deemed accused murdered Jesus Ayala unfit to stand trail and has moved the 19 year-old from jail to a secure psychiatric facility for further evaluation.

WARNING: THE GRAPHIC VIDEO BELOW IS VERY DISTURBING TO WATCH. IT APPARENTLY SHOWS A CYCLIST INTENTIONALLY BEING RUN OVER BY A CAR AND KILLED.

For the second time in less than a week, another teenager in the United States has been accused of intentionally running over and killing a cyclist with a car, this time recording the event on video.

A newly surfaced video shows two teenagers in a car who seem to decide on-the-fly to intentionally run over and kill cyclist Andreas Probst, 64, on the morning of 14 August in Las Vegas.

In the 17 second video below with audio you can hear the driver telling the passenger to record what is going to happen as they approach the cyclist from behind. The driver then moves the car into what looks like a bike lane occupied by the cyclist. Just before the car runs over the cyclist, one of the teens laughs and can be heard saying what sounds like, “Hit his ass.”

After hitting the cyclist and watching him bounce off the windshield, the teens do not stop to render aid, but continue to video the crumpled up cyclist on the ground while they speed away.

When Las Vegas Metro Police Department (LVMPD) officers and medics arrived at the scene of the video recording they found Andreas Probst with serious life-threatening injuries and transported him to University Medical Center, where he later died due to his injuries.

LVMPD tracked down and arrested the 17-year-old driver of the car and also discovered that he was fleeing a separate hit-and-run crash when he ran over Probst in a stolen car.

The video, posted to social media, of the hit-and-run crash helped LVMPD determined that Probst death was the result of an intentional act of murder.

Jesus Ayala, who is alleged to have been behind the wheel, and 16-year-old Jzamir Keys, who prosecutors say was the passenger that shot the video, are now both facing murder charges, as well as many others. Both are expected to be tried as adults.

Earlier this week, just a few hours away in Southern California, the Huntington Beach Police Department arrested a male teenage and charged him with one count of Homicide and two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon after he allegedly hit three cyclists intentionally, killing one.
