With only three UCI Gravel World Championship qualifying races remaining before the world championships in October, Sweden’s Gravel, Grit and Grind saw over 500 graveleurs trying to punch their ticket to the worlds on Saturday in Halmstad.

The “Dutch Mafia” dominated the most competitive categories, with Niki Terpstra (M35-39), Jasper Ockeloen (M19-34), Laurens ten Dam (M40-44) and Marianne Voss (W35-39) winning their respective categories.

Former WorldTour pro and Paris-Roubaix champion Niki Terpstra of the Netherlands also won the overall men’s 133km qualifying race in 3:30:50, followed the German Paul VOß (3:31:37), Jasper Ockeloen (3:31:38) of the Netherlands and Gustav Frederik Dahl (3:31:39) of Denmark. Niki Terpstra (3:34:28) was 13th overall.

Three times UCI World Road Race Champion Marianne Voss of the Netherlands took the overall women’s title in 4:07:22. Dane Annika Langvad was next at 4:07:26, with Rosa Maria Kloser of Germany just a few seconds back at 4:07:32.

Riders finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category automatically qualify to participate in the UCI Gravel World Championships taking place 7-8 October 2023 in Italy.

The final two qualifying races take place over the next two weeks, with Houffa Gravel in Belgium on 26 August and La Monsteratto in Italy on 1 September.
