Wearing his stars ‘n stripes USA National Champion jersey last Saturday, teenager Enzo Hincapie (EF Education – ONTO) was the fastest overall finisher at the second edition of Gran Fondo Hincapie Lehigh Valley. The 15 year-old son of Tour de France star George Hincapie finished the 79 mile rural Pennsylvania route in 3:37:15, just ahead of multiple UCI Gran Fondo World Champion Bruce Bird, 54, at 3:37:42.

In the gran fondo climbing competition, four timed segments, Enzo also won the men’s U19 category and finished fourth overall with a time of 39:57. First place went to 25 year-old elite track racer Brad Green (37:55), followed by Anton Gibson (38:00) and Clever Martinez (39:16). Liza Ray, 25, won for the women in 44:54.

Teenagers also won the 53 mile medio fondo’s climbing competition over three segments. 17 year-old Lewis Kopchak finished in 24:07 as the fastest man, with 16 year-old Helena Jones was the fastest woman in 24:59.

Over 800 cyclists participated in the event, which finished on the world famous Trexlertown velodrome. The next Gran Fondo Hincapie event takes place in Bangor, Maine USA on 24 June 24th.
