Former Road World Champion Alejandro Valverde (MOVISTAR) scored his second UCI Gravel World Series win this season at Hutchinson Ranxo Gravel in Pons, Spain on Sunday 4 June.
After winning La Indomable at the end of April, the 43 year-old Movistar Gravel team leader once again rode away from a field of top road and gravel riders to win with a two arms-up victory salute in 4:50:16 on a 161km long course. Teammate Ivan Garcia took second place in 4:52:32, followed by Kevin Suarez at 4:53:08.
Heidi Franz (DNA PRO CYCLING) won the women’s race in 5:42:55, with Anna Kay next at 5:46:40 and Claudia Glacia Cotrina taking the last podium step in 5:49:09.

Over 600 gravel cyclists participated in the UCI Gravel World Series race, with those finishing in the top 25% of their age/gender category qualifying to race at the 2023 Gravel World Championships taking place next October in Italy.
