Two of the world’s biggest cycling events sold-out in record time when the organizers opened registration for 2023 recently.

The Mallorca 312 super-sized gran fondo announced it had to close registration for the 29 April race just 10 hours after opening when all 8000 starting bibs quickly sold-out. The popular gran fondo attracts riders from all across the globe who ride 312 kilometers up, down and around the Spanish island of Mallorca.

“In this edition, a record has been broken by hanging the ‘sold out’ sign in just 10 hours. The previous edition in 2020 was sold out in 13 hours, but had to be cancelled due to the pandemic,” Mallorca 312 organizer Xisco Lliteras said.

The 10th edition of Great Britain’s RideLondon gran fondo also achieved record sales when starting bibs for the 100-mile route went on sale in late September. 10,000 places were sold on a first-come, first-served basis and were gone within 24 hours. Riders that missed out can still enter a lottery for a chance to purchase a bib, but must do so by Tuesday 1 November. The ride is scheduled for 28 May 2023 starting in London
