The 6th season of Italy’s Zero Wind Show gran fondo series will include 9 spectacular events throughout Italy. Beginning 27 February 2022 at the historic Gran Fondo Laigueglia in Liguria, amateur cyclists and teams will begin their quest to win the Zero Wind Show Championship before moving to the shores of Lake Garda on 20 March for Gran Fondo Garda Bottecchia.
The series then heads to Desenzano del Garda for the world famous Colnago Cycling Festival and Gran Fondo Colnago in early April.
One month later the series will be tackle Avesani Granfondo on 1 May and then another historic Granfondo, the Felice Gimondi, on the 8 May.
After a five week rest, riders will climb up into the Dolomites in Pinzolo and Madonna di Campiglio with the Top Dolomites granfondo on 19 June. On June 26, the climbing will continue in the Lombard Alps, in Valtellina, where the Granfondo Gavia Mortirolo will be held .
Finally, after a summer break, the last two events of the Zero Wind Show 2022 take place in autumn: 18 September will see riders return along the shores of Lake Garda with Dorelan Reactive Cycling granfondo, while on 16 October Granfondo Nibali will roll through the beautiful hills of the Marche region.
Competition for the overall individual and team championship will be based on the sum total of points awarded from a rider’s best four results in the series. Points will be awarded as follows: 1st place 100 points, 2nd place 80 points, 3rd place 70 points, 4th place 60 points, 5th place 50 points, 6th place 45 points, 7th place and onwards will will decrease 1 point for each placing until 50th place.
