With the lackluster pandemic cycling season now almost behind us it is time to start planning for 2021 and the new TransRockies Gravel Royale stage race in British Columbia looks like a fun event to put on your 2021 short list.

The new four-day gravel specific event takes place 23-26 August on secluded gravel roads through the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Traversing Panorama Mountain Resort, Nipika Mountain Resort, The Village of Canal Flats, and City of Fernie, riders will race over 233 miles and up 23,000 vertical feet of climbing.  If that seems a little daunting two- and three-day races are also available.

We are excited to be coming back up to this area of B.C. after hosting the first TransRockies Challenge mountain bike stage race 20 years ago,” announced TransRockies president Aaron McConnell in a press release.  “As gravel continues to grow, we knew we had an opportunity to create an epic experience on some of the most beautiful and remote gravel roads in the world.”

TransRockies Race Series was founded in 2002 and specializes in multi-day and endurance cycling and running events in Canada and USA.

TransRockies Gravel Royale registration begins 21 September with race entry, meal plan, showers, tent camping and gear transfer included with registration fee.  The first 50 to sign-up will receive an extra special early bird discount.
