In Albi, France last week professional cyclist Wout van Aert (JUMBO VISMA) won his first stage in the Tour de France and on Sunday amateurs Nicolas Amblard and Manon Souyris also scored victories in Albi at L’Albigeoise / La Calmejane Cyclosportive.

On a modified 128km gran fondo course used in the 2018 UCI Gran Fondo World Championships, Amblard won the Men’s race by attacking his breakaway companion Géraud Flores in the final kilometres to win by 5 seconds with a total time of 3:00:08.

Manon Souyris left no doubt she was the strongest women, winning in 3:31:03 with almost a 30 minute gap on second and third place riders Claire LeFranc and Sarah Dutouron.

Local rider Maël Rouanet, riding for team Albi Velo Sport, won the shorter 87km La Calmejane Men’s medio fondo race in 2:19:23 and Isis Lapuyade won the Women’s in 2:45:16.
