British cyclosportive riders can rejoice as British Cycling has given the ok to resume events in September.
The national cycling governing body announced that cyclosportive rides can restart 5 September after the British Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport gave final approval .
Due to the ongoing pandemic, promoters and participants must follow some new restrictions, including limiting the number of riders in a group and offering staggered start times.
Cyclists must ride in groups of six or less throughout an event, riders must also start in groups of six riders or less with 45-second intervals between groups, and promoters may not congregate more than 24 participants at the start line at any one time.
Several great British events set to return that first weekend in September include Sussex Downs Classic, Great Exmoor Ride and the Mad Summer Hare Sportive.
