The new dates of two highly anticipated Italian gran fondo races have been made official with the pairing of Granfondo Porto Sant’Elpidio-Stefano Garzelli and Granfondo Porto Sant’Elpidio-Tre Santuari on 26 Saturday and 27 Sunday September in Sant’Elpidio, Italy.
Taking place at the traditional beginning of autumn, Saturday’s Stefano Garzelli race will cover 95km of Marche region roads included in the 2020 Giro d’ Italia. Sunday’s Tre Santuari race adds another 115km including the sanctuaries of Madonna delle Grazie (Monte Giberto), Ambro (Montefortino) and Corva.
In addition to daily stage winners there will be a combined general classification ranking for the weekend. The winner of the first gran fondo will start the second race wearing the pink jersey of the Giro d ‘ Italia (the Giro will be in Porto Sant’Elpidio 14 October). Final rankings will be compiled at the end of Tre Santuari on Sunday with category prizes and champion jerseys awarded.
The costs of registration for the entire weekend of gran fondo racing is only € 40.00.
