With a new outbreak of the virus in Croatia that recorded the highest number of people testing positive in one day (100+), the Slovenian national guard notified the event promoter just hours before the race that it could not go forward since many Croatian amateur cyclists planned to travel to neighboring Slovenia to participate.
Gran Fondo Portorose has now been rescheduled to 30 August at the end of the summer holiday season.
