The mass start edition of the Belgian Velomediane Criquielion cyclosportive has been cancelled due to COVID-19, but a new Velomediane Concept 2020 event has been scheduled, allowing cyclists to individually or in small groups compete safely in the amateur Ardennes classic from 1 July – 29 August 2020.

The new format is as follows: register (20 euros) for the event at http://www.velomediane.com, pick up your number plate in person at the Tourist Office of La Roche-en-Ardenne, ride one of two routes (163 or 91km) via GPX file emailed at registration, upload your ride file to Strava afterwards, check Strava leaderboard for rankings.

Note: You must use a road bike (no E-bikes) and not deviate from the official GPX file route, otherwise you will not be included in the official rankings.

The starting point of the two routes is at the beginning of the rue Grande Strument and is indicated by the Beach flags of Vélomédiane. The finish, as always, is at the wildlife park of La Roche-en-Ardenne.

En route water is available at the following locations:

34.5km on the “côte St Roch” in Houffalize

48km in village of Ortho on the 91km route

85km on “Val du Pierreux” at the start of col de Haussire

143km in village of Trinal

Results and rankings will be published on the website and updated regularly throughout the summer.
