The worldwide L’Etape by Le Tour de France amateur gran fondo series with 20 events planned this year has yet to release an official COVID-19 statement, but individual franchise promoters are not waiting for direction from L’Etape/ASO and are canceling events for the safety of riders and communities.

L’Etape La Paz scheduled 22 March in Mexico announced cancellation with hopes of rescheduling the event at a later date.  Refund information has yet to be annouunced.

Sold out L’Etape Indonesia on 5 April also announced cancellation while hoping the worldwide emergency is over by their new rescheduled date of 9 August.  Existing registrations will automatically be transferred to the new date.  L’Etape Indonesia has not commented on refunds.

L’Etape Zhuji in China planned for May has yet to set a date and is effectively cancelled, although they have not issued a formal statement.

The flagship 14,000 rider L’Etape du Tour event in Nice, France on 5 July, as well as L’Etape UK also on 5 July and the new L’Etape Espana in Spain on 4 July, have not issued COVID-19 statements at press time.
