The Tour of Wessex 3 stage 3-day ride is one of Britain’s most grueling and most demanding gran fondo events.  On back-to-back days May 23-25 riders will cycle 330-miles of scenic byways, country lanes and leg-punishing climbs in South West Britain.

It is also one of the best gran fondo bargains in the world.

Registration is only £145, $190 or €170.  It includes en-route aid stations, course signage, post-ride food, showers, mechanical/broom wagon support, daily stage timing and overall results.

Only two hours from London, the quaint English village of Langport will host riders for three unique stages through the best of Somerset to the East on day 1 (100-miles),  Dorset to the South on day 2 (120-miles) and for day 3, Devon to the West at 110-miles.

The cumulative fatigue experienced over 3-days will put even the most accomplished amateur rider in a spot of bother on the final day.

If 330-miles seems a bit daunting, there is also a 3-day 220-mile medio-fondo.

On the other hand, if your schedule only allows one day of riding, maybe try the ultra 24-hour 330-mile option for riders who enjoy sleep deprived cycling.
