The brand new Mediterranean Epic Gran Fondo, a May 9, 2020 gran fondo race in the cycling paradise of Oropesa del Mar, Spain, set a sales record for a first year event – selling all 1500 registrations in 6 hours.
Hector de la Cagiga, director of Mediterranean Epic Gran Fondo, commented on the sell out, “It has been a huge surprise!”
He quickly secured permission from local authorities to add 500 more registrations. Riders who missed out on the initial sign up should check the Mediterranean Epic web site or Facebook page for information on a new registration date.
Cyclists have six months to prepare for the challenging 200km course and riding alongside event ambassador and Tour de France champion Pedro Delgado.
