The first edition of Gran Fondo Brasilia took place in the federal capital and modern architectural masterpiece city of Brasilia, Brazil on October 13th.

Over 450 gran fondo cyclists participated, racing through the streets of Brasilia on circuits of 125km or 90kms.  Riding on long wide boulevards racers enjoyed smooth roads, high speeds and perfect views of architectural landmarks included Eixo Monumental, National Theater, TV Tower, National Stadium, Buriti Palace, JK Memorial, Cathedral, Esplanade of Ministries, Itamaraty, National Congress, Supreme Court, Plateau Palace, JK Bridge and Paranoá Lake.

Rodrigo Melo (Funvic/Semelp) won with a time of 2:49:17 for the 125km course. Second place went to Allan Figueiredo and Gustavo Gonçalves finished third.

Marilia Fregonesi finsihed in 2:50:49 to win the women’s division, with Kelly Serafin second and Priscila Braga third.
