Horrible conditions on the rain-soaked Ripon to Harrogate 30km UCI U23 Time Trial World Championship race course in England today.

Cycling fans were outraged the UCI went ahead with the race anyway.  Tommy Singo tweeted:

The video below shows 21 year-old Attila Valter from Hungary spectacularly losing control of his bike, hitting the asphalt and sliding on his back.  He did remount and finish the race in 46:00, 5:39 behind winner Mikkel Bjerg.  At the finish Valter’s only comment was, “Sorry, I want to go to hospital.”
