New York police report a cyclist, riding in the GFNY New York Championship race was struck by a deer near Tomkins Cove, NY on Sunday.
Caroline Lepage was going northbound on 9-W when a deer ran out into he road and crashed into her left side at high speed.
Emergency workers learned about the crash from a local witness who called 911, and found the 28-year-old woman from Quebec in a semi-conscious state. She was treated on the scene by EMS for a broken left arm and left leg before being transported to Westchester Medical Center for a possible head injury.
Later on the hospital reported Lepage did not have a head injury.
The deer was ok and staggered off into the woods.
