Miserable weather conditions in northern Italy on Saturday forced Gran Fondo Felice Gimondi to only run the short 89.4km gran fondo route due to safety.

At the start in Bergamo temperatures hovered around 3°C as rain steadily came down and 900 riders shivered waiting to take-off.

Unfortunately, conditions did not improve as the ride progressed, actually they got worse, a lot worse, with heavy snow in the mountain top town of Selvino.
Luckily, back in Bergamo hot coffee, warm food and dry tents awaited riders, including Federico Brevi who soloed in for the victory in 2:29:29.
