If you rode Italy’s Granfondo Campagnolo Roma last year, there’s a good chance you had a banana – or five.  Event statisticians and number crunchers just released the final figures about Rome’s biggest “Big Ride”.

Everything was bigger at Granfondo Campagnolo Roma 2018, including the largest field size ever (6000+), a start line with three world champion medalists – Alessandro Ballan, Luca Paolini and Jenny Narcisy, and 1,700kg of bananas.

That’s a bunch of bananas.

The 2019 event is October 13 and plans to be even bigger, including even more bananas.
